Spring Wardrobe Wishlist: Darcy Edition

Recently I've seen all the gorgeous new clothes in the shops and It's been sooo difficult to resist temptation until I get paid! Spring is probably my second favourite season to dress for after Winter of course! It's mainly down the gorgeous colours and children's clothes are even better. So to help along my temptation of going out and buying all of the clothes.. i'd make a little Wardrobe Wishlist and today i'll start with Darcys. I love buying clothes for her, I seem to get so much more satisfaction than with myself.

These are either from Zara, H&M and Mothercare. Mothercare is a new one for me, I never really liked any of the clothes from there but they've definitely improved. Zara is just a well yeah! I love that shop!!

1. You can't see to well in the photo but this is a little tee with girls holding balloons. I thought it was so cute and would go so nicely with the jeans underneath. You can see it better here.

2. These jeans are Zara and just simple jeans with paint splatters on them in a more not like a child has done it type of way, ha! Thought these were a bit more interesting than plain jeans. You can shop these here.

3. I love this dress, I love all of the denim that seems to be around at the moment. This would be nice with a pair of leggings. I really like the contrast in this dress with the plain grey and then the star print. You can shop this here.

4. This is a very pretty pink outfit from Mothercare and like I said.. Mothercare isn't usually a shop I like. The print is really cool on the leggings. Take a better look here.

5. These jeans are such a lush colour and like I said would go so nicely the tee above it. This is probably one of my favourite colours of all the outfits. You can see these beaut jeans here

6. I love these shoes. They are a nude leather trainer style. They are super easy to slip on and off which makes our lifes easier as mums hey! Super cute. Never bought anything from h&m before so not sure what the quality is like but they look so cute. You can see them here.

7. These sandals are just so cute! Darcy has never worn sandals before but I definitely want to get her some for when the weather warms up. These have cute checked bows on too and look comfy which I know isn't always the case with sandals. Get them here.

8. This is such a cute outfit, definitely one of the first things I am getting. Again, it's from Mothercare. It really reminds me of Spring too. Here it is.

Where do you like to shop for your little ones?

The Bedtime Tag

So recently I was tagged to do 'The Bedtime Tag' by Ready For A Cuppa so today I thought I'd do just that.
As a mum some days, bedtime can be my favourite time of the day. Today is definitely one of those days. *yawns*.

1. Describe your usual bedtime routine.

On a normal day once Darcy is in bed between 7-7.30 my pyjamas go straight on. I go downstairs light a candle and chill for an hour or so on the sofa and watch my favourite trashy TV, I'll go upstairs brush my teeth and take my makeup off and chill. Basically once Darcy is in bed it's all about the chillin'!

2. What are your favourite pyjamas?

For Christmas my partner bought me some Fatface pyjamas and they are sooooo comfy! Definitely my current favourites.

3. What is your current bedtime reading?
I'm not a massive reader although I am trying to get better, I am currently half way through ready The Unmumsy Mum. It's so funny and truthfully honest!

What would I find on your bedside table?
Theres always a glass of water and a little bit of clutter too! Probably a watch and any Jewelley I've been wearing that day.

What scent makes you sleepy?
Wine, ha! Lavender as well.
What is your usual bedtime and wakeup time?
Generally 10-10.30 and whenever Darcy feels like waking me but usually between 7-8.

What are your top three bedtime products?
A cuppa tea, pyjamas & a hot water bottle in the Winter. ( what an old lady, ha!)

What is your most common sleeping position?
On my right hand side.

Do you have anything you like to take to bed with you?
I just always like to have a glass of water next to me.

What is your worst bedtime habit?
Looking at my phone! I am the worst for it! It always makes me wide awake too.

All Done!
I tag:

Step 1: Thank the person who nominated you, and link back to their blog.

Step 2: Display the Bedtime badge; which you can find at the top of this post. (save the picture)

Step 3: Answer the ten questions included above.
Step 5: Nominate between three and five fellow bloggers to take part, and set them the questions.

Taking The Dummy Away?

Darcy is nearly 19 months old and now something i've been thinking about a lot recently is when to take the dummy away.. I know dummies are one of those subjects that is very much split. Some people swear by them and others hate them. Whilst I have given Darcy a dummy (something that when I was pregnant I said I wouldn't do..How parenting changes you hey) I am still very much on the fence with them. At the age she is now and the cheekiness.. she has certainly started messing me around a little bit with the dummy especially on car journeys! If there is two of us in the car she will throw it and start a little game, she's done this if only me in the car obviously I don't even try. If you don't get it though she will get really annoyed. Also, at night she cries if she has lost it.. generally she find it easily herself.
I do love though that she is so easily comforted by it and I don't like to have to take that away from her but I don't know when the point comes that you know when to take it away. Do you just go cold turkey? I'd feel so mean.

Does anyone else have any experiences with taking away the dummy?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Life Update

Didn't really know what to call this post, life update sounds a bit too serious! I couldn't think of anything else. Basically just wanted to sit down and write about a few things that are going on as I know I haven't written a post in a couple of weeks. The consistant blogging is going reeeeally well! ha.

Not been too well over Christmas, we've all had the flu and Darcy has had such a bad cough, it's been so terrible at night. We all got better and then me & Paul got sinusitis. Just coming to the end of that now, but man is it hard to look after an energetic 18 month old when you're so poorly! Glad I had it though and not her.

With this weather I've been finding it really hard to find things to do with Darcy. She has a lot of energy to burn now days but as she's just gotten over being ill, I don't like to keep outdoors for too long of a time and especially with all this rain. I wish it would just snow or be warm. Anything in between is just no good when you have a little one!

I've been making bows and have even set up an Etsy shop! I'm really enjoying making them and find it such a nice therapeutic thing to do in the evenings even if no one wants to buy them! The reason behind it was that I was seeing so many of these beautiful bows on Instagram and thought to myself I could do that! I taught myself by watching a few youtube videos and bought the supplies.. They are super easy. Check out my Etsy page here I'll be adding some more soon. Hoping to get some easter fabric in to create seasonal bows! I can add them on to a headband or a clip.

Also going to set up a Youtube channel. I used to do it but I watch them back and they are so cringe, I am not a natural when it comes to talking to the camera but I'd really like to give it another go. I just think why not! Another reason as to why I'd like to set one up is that I've been videoing Darcy since she was born and the early videos were all added to icloud but unfortunately they aren't playing anymore, not sure what I am doing wrong but could be the internet connection.. Anyway, I just think that adding videos to Youtube to be able to watch back videos would be so much easier, so on there i'm going to be vlogging and what not.

Will add my Youtube Channel on here soon though.

Darcy | Eighteen Month Update

This is about a month late but oh hey ho, when was I ever early on these update things, ha.
I can't believe where has the time gone!! She's come on leaps on bounds recently and it's amazing to watch..
I'll start with her routine, So she will wake up anything between 7-8am, breakfast is shortly after waking.. she'll have a nap at about 12pm for a couple of hours and either have lunch before her nap or after it just depends what time she had breakfast, then dinner is at 5-6pm and then we start getting ready for bed around 7pm.
Darcy has definitely started becoming slightly pickier about food and I'm so worried i'll have a fussy child, I'd find that so difficult to deal with, she does like fruit and vegetables so i can't complain there but it's getting protein in her which is quite hard.

She is now in 18-24 month clothes but still has some 12-18 that she fits in. She is in size 5 nappies.
Her speech is really coming on and she can say quite a few words.
'there it is' 'doggy' 'no' 'yes' 'thank you' 'peppa' ooh and she can count to 4. Those are a few, i can't think of anymore but I am sure there is more.

She is very quick on her feet now and can pretty much run! She is also learning to jump at the moment.
She has her own little personality developing and she seems more like her daddy than me, in the way that she knows what she wants, she isn't quiet like I am ha, she can be soo sassy too! I think some of the toddler tantrums have began too! But they aren't too bad.
Darcy has a lot of teeth now, I couldn't count how many as there are lots! She hasn't been too well over Christmas/ Winter period she has caught every cold/cough going! Poor thing.

There are few changes that will be happening in the next couple of months..

-Taking the dummy away.

-Taking the bars off of her cot bed to turn it in to a cot bed.

-Taking the bottle away before bed

-Potty training

Any advice on this would be much appreciated!!

Our Christmas Trip To London

I'm probably writing this up and posting it a little late now but I wanted to still get it up. Every year now we have made a family tradition to make sure we go on a trip somewhere sort of near Christmas. It doesn't have to be expensive.. just a night or two away.
Last years trip we went to Holland in November and a day trip to the Bath Christmas Markets in December.. So this year we decided to go to  London for the weekend. It was lovely, we only went the weekend before Christmas so as you can expect it was very busy indeed!
We took the train up on Saturday morning, and arrived at Paddington station at 10.30am, we have this thing now where usually by the time we get off of the train Darcy is ready for a nap so, we get on the tube to High Street Kensington and sit in Nero's for around an hour so she can sleep undisturbed, it's just always the place we seem to go. After this we had a little mooch around the area looking in a few of the shops.. Paul wanted to take a few pictures and we wanted to get over to Harrods.. we decided to walk there as we'd be able to kill two birds with one stone. Paul got some great shots which I'll post a few for you to look at, take a look at his page here as his photography is brilliant. Once we were at Harrods, we realised how overwhelmingly busy it was!! I literally couldn't believe it. I mean I was expecting it to be busy but just not on this scale. I got to choose a couple of my Christmas presents from here meaning 'heeeelllloooo Charlotte Tilbury'. I think I am going to write up a separate post about what I got for Christmas so you can see what I got from this amazing make-up brand then. I wanted to go up to the toy and Christmas department but we literally just gave up because the amounts of people! Anyway by this point it was time for a bite to eat and almost time to check in the hotel. The hotel we stayed at was in Edgware Road so pretty central and close to everywhere we wanted to be, it was called the London Kings Hotel it was basic and had all the amenities you need eg. tea and coffee making facilities, fridge ect. The service from the staff was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. I was really impressed and would definitely stay again.

The main reason for our trip was to be able to go to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park so as it hit dusk we got ready to leave the hotel and walk to Hyde Park, it was only about 15 minutes away so absolutely perfect! But again, once we got here we were shocked at how busy it was, we came about 3 years ago obviously without a baby and it was no where near as busy. We sound so naive but the scale of the number of people that were there was crazy! It was so busy that I didn't even get my mulled wine *sad face*. We did go on the Observation Wheel though which was fun, this was only because we had pre-booked tickets. I was really nervous as heights aren't my favourite thing in the world so I was clung on to Darcy who kept trying to push me off. We left pretty soon after this as the crowds just were enjoyable, and walked back to the hotel. It was time to get a good nights rest ready for another day. Sunday morning arrived and we knew we wanted to do something Christmassy - we went there to get in the spirit and weren't leaving until we had! he he. I did a little bit of Google research and decided to take a trip down to South bank as I had seen there was a Christmas market on down there. It was soooo much quieter and much more family friendly and hey I got my mulled wine!! yayyy. I also had some Dutch pancakes which me and Darcy shared and she thoroughly enjoyed. We took a trip on the carousel which was fun, and we went for another little walk, Paul took his own little walk also to get a few shots. The morning ran away with us and unfortunately it was time to get back on to the tube and go back to Paddington so we could go home. It was a great little weekend away together and we really enjoyed ourselves, it's hard work with a little one, but every time we do things like this it does get that little bit easier. I'll include some pictures underneath.

Do you any of you go away close to Christmas? Anywhere you'd reccomend?

Goals for 2017

Seeing as we've just entered 2017 I thought it would be nice to make some goals for this year. I'm not one for resoulutions as I never stick to them and they'd be the really normal ones like 'get fit' 'eat more healthy' ect..
However I do like to set myself goals.. and it would be fun to see if at the end of the year if I acheived any of them.

Work On My Blog Consistantly.

I'd like to put more love in to my blog as I do love it very much so.. I'd like to be consistantly blogging 2-3 times a week. At least twice anyway as this is something I didn't keep up with in 2016. Also, i'd like to engage more and be more involved in the community as there really is a great blogging community out there, it would be great to have some blogging friends by the end of 2017 :)

To really live in the moment.

I'd like to spend more time living in the moment with Darcy.. to have more playtime. I spend way too much time on my phone and I really don't want this to rub off on her, much more one on one time.

To be more positive and worry less.

This is something that I am guilty of I always think of the worse and I really need to take a step back and really assess a situation before I make a judgement on it, I wouldn't say I am the most negative person in the world but I could be slightly more positive that is for sure, ha. I am a born worrier, and i'd like not worry as much this year.

What are your goals for this year?
